Jazz Affair is the meeting of six unique voices (three women and three men) who offer a colorful and energetic whole. Their varied repertoire is composed of jazz standards and arrangements of popular songs to which they add a jazz flavor.
Influenced by Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices, two flagship bands of American jazz, Jazz Affair stands out for its 100% a cappella signature, making it one of the few vocal jazz professional bands in Canada.
Formed at Laval University in 2009, Jazz Affair stood out from the beginning by winning the Université Laval record competition two years in a row, in 2010 and in 2011. In April 2012, the band was selected at the Harmony A Cappella Festival Sweepstakes in New York where they won the prize for the best arrangement and for best soloist, awarded to Marie-Pier Deschênes.
